Bologna was the first city I visited in Italy several years ago, and I would never have guessed that after years of visiting I’d have friends here; I’d have my spots for wood-fired chicken, specialty coffee and wine; and that I’d be able to hold moderately interesting conversations in Italian.
I hadn’t been back since the pandemic, and it was a pleasure to reconnect with friends, faces and places.
